Janisse Ray

<div>Award-winning author Janisse Ray is a native of the coastal plains of southern Georgia. A naturalist and environmental activist, Ray is the author of Ecology of a Cracker Childhood as well as several essays and poems that have appeared in newspapers and magazines like Georgia Wildlife and Orion. Ray earned a graduate degree in creative writing from the University of Montana.
