George Harrar
George Harrar lives in Wayland, Massachusetts, with his wife, who is a documentary filmmaker, and their teenage son. In 1998 Harrar won the first Carson McCullers Prize for the Short Story from Story magazine, and his winning piece was included in the 1999 edition of The Best American Short Stories. Harrar’s short fiction has appeared in the New Press Literary Quarterly, the Side Show anthology, Eclectic Literary Forum, Quarter After Eight, and American Way. He recently began writing fiction full time after working for many years as a freelance journalist for publications such as the New York Times, Forbes, ForbesASAP, and the Boston Globe.
