Bill Ransom

Bill Ransom is the coauthor with Frank Herbert of the best-selling Pandora Sequence: The Jesus Incident, The Lazarus Effect, and The Ascension Factor. He has also written three gritty, solo science fiction novels, Jaguar, Viravax, and Burn. An accomplished poet, Ransom pioneered the National Endowment for the Arts’ Poetry in the Schools program in Washington and in several western states. He founded and directed the popular Port Townsend Writers' Conference and Youth Programs for Centrum. His collection, Finding True North & Critter was nominated for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award in poetry. Ransom appeared in two feature films: An Officer and a Gentleman and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (CBS). He was a jet engine expeditor, cook, framer and roofer; firefighter, firefighting basic training instructor, and CPR instructor for six years; and an Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Technician for ten years in Washington and with humanitarian medical groups in civil wars in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. He’ s had plenty of experience with blood. Brother Blood/Sister Death is his seventh novel.
