Arabella the Traitor of Mars

The Adventures of Arabella Ashby is a wildly imaginative alternate history stars young Arabella Ashby, who grows up on her father's Martian plantation and shares his love of machinery and engineering. It's her misfortune, however, to be born into British society in the early 1800s, a time when young women are decidedly not looked upon favorably unless they stick to the familiar roles of debutante, wife, and mother. Arabella's life is anything but standard, though. Her mother takes her back to England, but after her father's death, Arabella disguises herself as a boy in order to return to her beloved Mars and save the family's fortune. Along the way she meets the handsome space captain who will become her husband, and together the two must fight Napoleon's forces and win the day for England--in space.
