The great land of Akaria was once an extraordinary place where people had magical gifts bestowed by the gods, themselves. But the magic has been long lost to the Akarians, hidden after years of turmoil and war. It is rumored, however, that the magic is still out there, waiting to be released from inside the lost Lumos Gems.

Liam doesn’t think much of these stories of magic, until his own magical abilities start to appear. When Princess Katerina of Esterine arrives in Akaria to marry the emperor’s heir, she’s hiding a magical secret of her own—a devastating illness, The Obsidian Streaks, slowly draining her physical and mental strength. Unexpectedly, the emperor is found to be plagued by the disease, as well, and Liam is forced to consider if the Lumos Gems legends could be true. Desperately searching for an answer, Liam and Katerina must make a bold decision to join together on a quest to find one of the ancient gems—the Healing Stone.

Success is anything but guaranteed, and they’ll need to abandon old ideas of who they are for a chance at survival. Only by embracing their true identities can they secure the Healing Stone and save their world from destruction.
