All students at Vista are required to keep a journal. What they write about is up to them. In the California Diaries, Dawn, Sunny, Amalia, Maggie, and Ducky document their lives—issues at home, dating, complicated friendships, and even a run-in with a teen movie star. Safe in these diaries, they can tell their stories in their own words, reveal all of their deepest secrets. As these five friends move from middle school to the sometimes scary world of high school, they encounter problems bigger than they’ve ever dreamed of, and some that threaten to tear them apart.
