Allies Under Siege

On September 17, 1944, Allied forces launched Operation Market Garden. This daring offensive behind enemy lines was intended to bring an early end to the war in Europe. But the mission didn’t go as planned and more than 16,000 Allied soldiers were killed, wounded, or captured. What went wrong to turn this bold plan into a horrible disaster, and what was its impact on the war? Young readers will find out in a dramatic graphic novel that tells the tale of one of World War II’s worst military disasters.
