Kim E. Wilson
Kim Wilson is the author of the mysteries Bird and The Fireflies of Estill County. Kim was born in Champaign, Illinois where she spent her early years growing up. She and her family moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1967 when her father took an editing position with the local paper, The Courier Journal. Kim still resides in Louisville, lives with her husband of forty years, and her Golden Retriever pup, Willow. Kim’ s a graduate of the University of Louisville and holds both a bachelor’ s and master’ s degree in education. She worked as an educator with the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) as both a middle school teacher (Language Arts as well as Exceptional Child Education - Learning Disabilities, Educable Mentally Handicapped, and Multiple Handicapped) and as the School Based Decision Making Specialist in administration at VanHoose Education Center. After retiring, Kim continued assisting JCPS as a retired administrator, became co-owner of Legends Sports Academy, LLC, served as chairperson of the advisory council for the Governors School for the Performing Arts, a program of the Kentucky Center for the Arts. She loves jogging, walking her pup, gardening, bridge, reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
