Christopher L. Webber, a graduate of Princeton University and the General Theological Seminary in New York, is the author of over thirty books. His most recent books include American to the Backbone, a biography of pre–Civil War abolition leader James W.C. Pennington; Give Me Liberty: Speakers and Speeches That Have Shaped America; and The Beowulf Trilogy, which includes the first-ever sequel to the Old English Saga, Beowulf.
