Barbara Seaman
Barbara Seaman was an American writer and advocate for female healthcare rights. Her work on gendered prejudice in the healthcare system in the 1960s argued that pharmaceutical companies’ drive for profit over safety often endangered women by denying them proper health information and the ability to make fully informed decisions about their care. Bringing public attention to women’s healthcare through her publications and activism, Seaman was a leading medical contributor to the feminist movement of the twentieth century.
